Note di degustazione
The 2017 Home Vineyard Pinot Noir is wildly aromatic, with fresh tanned leather, pink peppercorns, roasted beef crust, blood plum, licorice, blood and game. In the mouth, the wine is unbelievably fresh, with cherries, pomegranate molasses and crushed rocks, shaped by finely milled pumice-stone tannins. While the wine is more aromatic than it is flavorsome, it gains momentum as it travels across the palate and draws out through the long finish. It is gently chewy, very fine and seems to grow as it goes. It has cocoa, dark chocolate and lichen to close. 14% alcohol, sealed under Diam.

This is a scintillatingly rich expression of pinot noir that offers such intense, ripe red and dark cherries, as well as crushed violets, stones, meaty nuances and spicy aromas. The palate has a very juicy and rich feel with a sleek, fresh finish. So concentrated and seamless. Drink or hold.
Bendigo subregion. 400 m elevation, high terrace. Polyphenols naturally high, due to slow and long ripening, so very light extraction, with only cap-wetting and a few punch-downs throughout fermentation. Mid-deep black-purple – almost Syrah-like colour. White pepper and cedar, with bacon fat! Toasty oak complexity over ripe, plush blackberry fruit. The herbal and orange peel characters are the non-Syrah elements. Brisk acidity, flinty-schist mineral, spice and bacon-fat oak toast. Firm, peppery, Syrah-like tannins. Long and spicy. (TJ)
