85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc. The second wine from Le Pin's stablemate L'If. From younger vines, though some are up to 40 years old. 50% aged in new oak barrels for 12 months. Deep, powerful, cherry/damson fruit on the palate. A little chunky at the moment – this should smooth out with a further 12 months in bottle. But not the most elegant now. (AWH)
