Note di degustazione
The 2022 Schloss Johannisberg Silberlack Riesling Trocken GG represents the dry and sunny year and is already quite matured on the elegant nose that shows almond and intense yellow tropical fruit aromas. Intense and juicy yet also quite oaky on the palate, this full-bodied, elegant and saline Schloss Johannisberger Riesling is vital, stimulating and more alive and kicking on the palate and the finish than on the nose. Natural cork. Tasted in Kiedrich, August 2025.

The 2022 Riesling Schloss Johannisberg Silberlack Grosses Gewächs was harvested after the rain. It was vinified and aged in 1,200-liter barrel with bâtonnage for nine months, then a further six months in stainless steel on fine lees. A small part of this was skin-fermented. The fruit was picked in the Langenberg parcel of the Johannisberg slope. The evolution of one further year of maturity is immediately evident here. This displays Riesling's gorgeous, heady lift, rich with lemon oil. The palate flows in like a slender balm, cooling and soothing with seamless brightness. Everything tingles with freshness but also with a firm phenolic frame. Slenderness, poise, elegance and structure are united by vivid, linear acidity. This beautiful wine is an utter vindication of Doktor's decision to harvest late. (Bone-dry)
Very deep and enormously structured, this great dry Rheingau riesling has a fabulous harmony of fine tannins, concentrated Mirabelle plum, flint and chamomile character on the medium- to full-bodied palate. Enormously energetic wet stone finish that takes your breath away. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2026.
