This is a brilliant rendition both in terms of execution and appearance. The Miani 2022 Friuli Colli Orientali Chardonnay is my favorite wine in this bunch thanks to the compelling complexity it offers with stone fruit, honey, nougat and sweet almond. There is seamless integration between the fruity and the nutty sides of the wine's personality, and its mouthfeel proves fine, texturally soft and long lasting. This is some of the best winemaking found in northeast Italy.

The 2022 Chardonnay is wonderfully floral and rich with a burst of lemony custard, vanilla bean and peach sorbet. This opens with a glycerol sweetness, giving way to crisp orchard fruits offset by gingery spices. It's wonderfully fresh from start to finish, leaving confectionary spices and a tinge of ginger that adds a lovely punctuation.
