Note di degustazione
Knoll's 2022 Ried Kellerberg Dürnsteiner Riesling Smaragd has a dense, intense, herbal-spicy nose with concentrated berry fruit but little juice. Rich and elegant on the palate, even quite powerful and full-bodied in texture, this is a mouth-filling Kellerberg with bodybuilder stature. Perhaps it's a little haggard or at least without the juiciness and elegance of the great vintages. Tasted at Schloss Dürnstein, Wachau, in September 2023.

Dürnstein. South- to south-east facing at 204–340 m on Gföhl gneiss. Smells of stone, lime and wild mint. Lively, luminous and taut palate with elegant fruit finesse and balance. A firm salty edge harnesses the deep concentration. Still closed to all but the most superficial observations. Wait. (PS)
The striking nose of star fruit, white peach and jasmine pulls you into the seriously concentrated yet razor-sharp dry riesling with enormous Amalfi lemon and lime zest intensity at the very long, energetic finish. Enormous aging potential. Drinkable now, but best from 2025.
