AP number 13 23. Lime-cordial aroma and gently herbal. Cool, lively and relatively light-bodied but long and deliciously dry. Stony aftertaste. (JH)

Orange citrus, dairy notes, lime juice, slate, sour apple, elderflower – there is so much up-front flavour, it fills the mouth and delivers 100% of the classic Riesling style. Appetising, complex, eloquent. (RH)
From an absurdly dry year with just 530 liters of precipitation (in contrast to 2024, which had 1,350 liters), the 2022 Maximin Grünhaus Herrenberg GG opens with a fragrant, fruit-intense, aromatic and saline-scented bouquet of ripe yellow stone fruits and associations of weathered slate. Rich and juicy yet immediately savory and nutty, this is a complex and quite tannic Herrenberg with substance, inner power and good length. It is slightly drying on the finish at this early age, a Riesling with red-wine character. This will be an excellent wine with food in many years, and I recommend cellaring it for at least another six or more years. 12% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in January 2026.
AP number 13 23. Grainy-textured nose somehow! Real grip on the palate. Very marked acidity but this is a wine that convinces one that it has a long future. For the moment it’s quite chewy. (JR)
