Note di degustazione
The 2021 Ried Grassnitzberg Riff 1STK is coolish, pure and refined on the bright yet intense and lemony as well as saline and calcareous, Kimmeridgian nose that reveals saline and woodruff notes. Full-bodied, intense and textured on the palate, with a certain sur lie layer and a greenish/savory finish reminiscent of lime and lemon rind, this is a very saline but also juicy and less austere Sauvignon compared to Sernau König. It's very long, mineral and lemon-bitter on the finish. 13% stated alcohol. Tasted as a sample at the domaine in April 2025.

Ehrenhausen. South-south-east-facing site at 300–420 m in elevation on sandy loam and coralline limestone. Vines average 35 years old. Spontaneous fermentation and two years in large oak casks on the lees. Vinolok closure. Certified biodynamic ( respekt-BIODYN ). Floral, juicy, passion fruit and red-berry notes – ebullient wine but also sleek and steadfast, with crunchy minerality tethering everything to the earth and the fine acidity giving it length. (TQT)
Masses of red gooseberries, redcurrants and Thai basil fill the compact and highly structured, medium- to full-bodied palate. The chalky finish has a wealth of herbal complexity and is very long. In fact, this one has no intention of ending at all. From organically grown grapes. Vegan. Drink or hold. Glass stopper.
