Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2015-2025, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Sep 2015

Made all from Marsanne and aged 17 months on lees, with no racking, in one-third new French oak, the 2012 St Peray Fleur de Crussol is beautiful, although it has less minerality than the '13. Honeysuckle, white flowers, peach and hints of brioche all show in this full-bodied, ripe, pure white that can be enjoyed anytime over the coming decade or more.

Green-tinged yellow. A heady, exotically perfumed bouquet displays ripe citrus and pit fruits, along with notes of vanilla, violet, chamomile and iodine. Rich and broad but minerally and focused, offering palate-staining orange, pear and nectarine flavors underscored by crackling minerality. Shows superb clarity and thrust on a strikingly long finish that echoes the floral and mineral notes. By all means allow this one to rest a bit, then drink it over the coming decade with confidence.

From a 70 year old single vineyard. Fermented and aged in oak for 16 months. Creamy, with a lovely little bit of flinty reduction. Nutty, floral, and with a lovely savoury fruit character. Rich and broad and lengthy and layered and delicious! (RH)

Vivid yellow. Smoky pear, quince and floral aromas are complicated by dusty minerals and candied ginger. Bright orchard and pit fruit flavors are initially taut and racy but deepen and flesh out with air, picking up a honeyed quality and a touch of fig. This complex, chewy midweight finishes with powerful mineral lift and superb persistence.
