Note di degustazione
The nose of the 2016 Franschhoek Cabernet Sauvignon features dark red fruit, with dark berries, dark cherry and black plum. There is a touch of oak nuance here, and the wine has a mineral edge. On the palate, the wine showcases more on the mineral and tannic side, growing tarter on the mid-palate. The finish is grippy and tight still, so enjoy this with food or cellar it for a couple of years. 20,000 bottles were made.

The 2016 Boekenhoutskloof Franschhoek Cabernet Sauvignon comes from four adjacent vineyards and one Cabernet Franc parcel, matured in 100% new French barriques for 18 months and the Cabernet Franc barrel-fermented. It has a lifted bouquet, very Left Bank in style, revealing a touch of mint with time. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin and a sprinkling of black pepper, and just a little more delineation on the finish than the Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon. A steadfast, trustworthy Cabernet Sauvignon that should give a decade of drinking pleasure.
