Very ripe, yet deep and cool with stunning minerality, this is an extremely vibrant and expressive Auslese that lifts your heart at the super bright, very mineral finish. Drink or hold.

The 2019 Maximin Grünhaus Riesling Herrenberg Auslese opens with a clear and intense yet refined and stony/floral bouquet with remarkable intensity and finesse. Bottled with 105 grams of residual sugar and a total acidity of 7.5 grams per liter, this is a rich, tart and firmly structured Auslese with greenish phenols and bitters that still need to integrate better. The wine reveals tropical fruit aromas and a clear, fresh and crystalline juiciness with a well-balanced sweetness. This Auslese is minerally profound and tensioned, quite expressive and long. Tasted in July 2020.
AP number 09 20. TA 8 g/l, RS 100 g/l. Cool and creamy on the nose. Vibrant and tense with grainy texture and quite a bit of sweetness. A certain green streak. Still embryonic. Just a bit unformed. (JR)
