Exotic and perfumed on the nose – a real explosion of floral elements, with wonderfully ripe fruit and just the right touch of sweet oak. Displays top quality from start to finish. Beautiful Pinosity, but with a sense of place too. And that fruit! Pristine indeed. (RH)

Shimmering ruby-red. High-pitched red fruit, floral and exotic spice aromas are complemented by suave incense and vanilla flourishes. Sweet, seamless and penetrating on the palate, offering vibrant raspberry, boysenberry, cherry preserve and spicecake flavors that convey a deft blend of power and delicacy. Finishes extremely long and precise, with resonating floral character and well-judged, polished tannins that sneak in late.
The 2017 Pinot Noir Laurene is a selection of the best barrels from Domaine Drouhin fruit. Pale to medium ruby, it has an open-knit nose of crushed blackberries, spiced cranberry sauce, forest floor, allspice, citrus peel and tree bark. It’s medium bodied with intense, spicy fruits, a grainy frame and seamless freshness, finishing very long.
A selection of around 100 barrels from the Dundee Hills estate pinot, this has a deeply grounded and confidently defined feel on the palate with density of tannin and a strong, noble core that carries long and builds so convincingly. Long, sustained, seamless quality to the finish. Drink over the next decade.
