Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2024-2040, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Jun 2021

The 2017 Pinot Noir Brauneberger Klostergarten *** is deep and complex on the pure and flinty nose that exhibits an intense cherry aroma intertwined with refreshing flinty slate and herbal aromas. Silky, round and elegant on the palate, this is a full-bodied and powerful, mouth-filling, juicy and highly complex yet always refined and vivacious Pinot with a remarkable fine tannin and acid complex that lifts but also balances this pure and energetic, salty-finishing Pinot that reveals just a tiny bit of fresh oak and a brittleness. The aftertaste is serious, intense, wide and mouth-filling yet always fresh and pure. Round, fresh and elegant on the palate, this is a full-bodied, silky-textured, intense and powerful yet finessed and even iodine Pinot of great expression and quality. The tannins are very fine and perfectly interwoven with the crystalline slate acidity. A gorgeous 2017. Tasted in May 2021.
