Full bottle 1,200 g. EcoStep Wine certified winery. Hand-picked. Red volcanic soil. Ernie Loosen reckons you don’t drink Spätlesen until they are at least 10 years old. Smells like lemon sherbet, lemon-drizzle cake, and then … whoosh! It’s a little like falling down a rabbit hole. Vertical intensity, almost shocking intensity, and stunningly beautiful. Golden mirabelle plums, quince baked in honeyed spice syrup, orange blossom. But that acidity. Like white lightning. Electrifying. Wow. (TC)

Lime and strawberry on the nose take on a delectably chiffon-like combination of creaminess and airiness on the palate. Cooling green herbal accents and a generously juicy influx of ripe honeydew melon add allure, while the lingering finish benefits unexpectedly from invigorating impingement of berry seeds and lime zest.
Beautiful play here between spicy white pepper and garlic and lemons, limes and yuzu with hints of flint and gunpowder. The medium-bodied palate has a chalky texture with finely judged firmness and a porcelain-like quality to the cutting acidity and tannin structure. The sweetness is very finely judged. Drink now.
The preserved lemons, crushed stones, crabapples and green pears are beautiful. The palate has real depth and structure, with slight oiliness, and the sweetness is only moderate. Taut acidity balances affairs successfully. Drink in 2021.
