Note di degustazione
The 2021 Pinot Noir Paterberg GG is bright in its ruby garnet color and opens with a pure, refined and floral bouquet that is reminiscent of red berries and rose petals, whereas the initially prominent toasty/oaky flavors integrate soon with aeration. On the palate, this is a very delicate and finessed, lightweight rather than powerful yet very elegant and aromatic, intense and juicy, very well balanced and quiet Pinot Noir with a saline and lean finish. The wine is based on massal selections from Rousseau's Chambertin-Clos de Bèze that were grafted onto the then-30-year-old Riesling vines about a decade ago. The vines are cultivated on a limestone terroir with fine clay soils that are located between Nierstein and Oppenheim and open to the west, so the permanent breezes refresh the warm spot that overlooks the Rhine River. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in November 2023.
