2021 Rall Red

Rall's ripest wine at 13%. 'It wants more ageing. It's bottled at the same time as everything else but released one year later.' It gets a bit more cap submerging than his other reds. Mostly Syrah with some Grenache, Carignan and Cinsault. Succulent but actually more Pinot-like in terms of structure than anything else. Reminds me of new-wave Roussillon reds. Sandy, grainy tannins and fragrant fruit. Gorgeous rain-on-old-stone-wall minerality. But it's also floral and charming, bougainvillea and hibiscus, wild strawberries. Just so long and almost tenderly insistent. (TC)

Bursting with a bright, juicy frame, the 2021 Red Blend is fresh and ripe as it wafts with crunchy red fruits and mineral essence. Medium-bodied, there is a fantastic focus on the palate with a balanced structure, succulent tannins and bright acidity before offering a fine mineral tension. The wine concludes with a lingering, brilliant finish that begs me back for more. Bravo!
