2004 Gigondas Vieilles Vignes

The 2004 Perrin et Fils Gigondas Vieilles Vignes, which looked outstanding last year, was totally closed and austere. Hence, I couldn’t make heads nor tails from it. Certainly there is plenty of weight, the fruit is pure, but the tannins and minerality dominate the fruit at this stage. Will this wine turn around and surprise in a positive way in 2-3 years time?
