2021 Ihringer Winklerberg Grauburgunder

Heger's 2021 Ihringer Grauburgunder opens with a deep and intense, spicy, yeasty and mineral rather than fruity nose that is reminiscent of red-skinned apples and pears but also crushed stones. Supple, intense and sustainably structured, this is an elegant, full-bodied and warming Pinot Gris that is fermented fully dry and reveals fine, mineral acidity. Very delicate but dense and saline, this is a sustainable Pinot Gris that still needs another year to fully open up. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in November 2023.
