Opaque violet color. Potent, mineral-accented cherry, black raspberry and fruitcake aromas, with a sexy floral nuance adding complexity. Offers juicy, impressively concentrated black/blue fruit, violet pastille and dark chocolate flavors that convey both power and delicacy. Chewy and penetrating on the youthfully tannic, spice-tinged finish, which shows excellent clarity and strong, mineral-driven persistence.
Very attractive ripe berries and hints of praline and toffee on the nose. This has a very plush palate that carries a wealth of rich blue fruit. Smooth palate. Drink now.
The ambitiously priced 2016 Moulin-à-Vent Le Clos du Moulin-à-Vent reveals a deep, rich bouquet that's a touch reductive in profile, framed by toasty new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, aggressive and unyielding, with cooked, burnt flavors. Hail is likely to blame, but it would appear to have had helpers in the cuverie and cellar.
