35% Grenache Noir, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Carignan, 10% Syrah. Yield 15 hl/ha. 30% new French oak 600-litre barrels for between 12 and 21 months. Light filtration before bottling. 8,400 bottles produced. Mid greyish crimson. Some sweetness and breadth. And certainly very honest and untarted and expressive. Though the toughness of Carignan kicks in on the finish... (JR)

More obviously ripe than the 2006, even slightly overripe perhaps, but with much less energy and a very astringent finish. (JR)
40% Grenache Blanc, 30% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Chenin Blanc, 20% Marsanne and Roussanne. Alcoholic fermentation took place in purpose-built, oak foudres, then on lees for eight months in demi-muids, half new and half one year old. Yield 12 hl/ha. Pale straw. Minerals and straw on the nose. Very firm slightly honeyed palate which really opens up on the back – this has a thoroughly burgundian structure but with quite different flavours. Great transparent texture. Real lift. Extraordinary persistence. Everyone has to taste this wine once! The 2004 is much, much tighter and I’d drink it after the 2005. (JR)
