Note di degustazione
The 2021 Grüner Veltliner Wunderburg is a sub-parcel in the lower southwest part of the Kellerberg, so it is even warmer than the Kellerberg itself, a suntrap that retains heat overnight. It was spontaneously fermented in untoasted French 228-liter barrels, one new and two used. The nose already promises richness with its yeasty vibe. The palate is of serene, rich creaminess, almost like crushed salty biscuits, but framed with pepper, ivy and absolute saltiness. This wine is unusual but compelling. Give this time. (Bone-dry)

Picked on October 25, so very late, the lime-green 2021 Dürnsteiner Grüner Veltliner Ried Kellerberg is intense and pure on the nose and also shows wet chalk aromas along with flinty and phenolic notes. Macerated for 18 hours, this is a full-bodied, rich and juicy, fine and elegant Veltliner with a savory, saline and finely grippy finish. Still young and somewhat shy, this is an intense and finely tannic Kellerberg with a long, fine, lemon-bitter finish. It needs time. 13.2% alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in September 2022.
