2014 Gevrey Chambertin La Romanee

Monopole. Peppery and just a little herbal (some stems, maybe). But there’s also an unusual and light note of mocha. It appears on the palate too, where the fine tannins are made more fluid by lovely juicy fruit. Elegant in the extreme but with lots of flavour too. (JH)
