2016 Cote Rotie Les Fortis

Glass-staining ruby. Smoke- and mineral-tinged tinged blueberry, olive and violet aromas show excellent clarity and a subtle hint of allspice. Sweet and energetic in the mouth, offering deeply concentrated black and blue fruit and floral pastille flavors and a suggestion of spicecake. The impressively long finish shows bright, minerally cut, an echo of sappy blue fruit and silky tannins that come in late.
