Note di degustazione
One of the highlights of this year's portfolio, the 2016 Moulin-à-Vent Clos du Grand Carquelin wafts from the glass with aromas of plums, blackberry, raw cocoa, cherry preserve and candied peel. On the palate, it's full-bodied, ample and generous, with a concentrated core of ripe, succulent fruit that largely conceals its fine tannins through the long finish.

Bottled. 12 months in oak. A little more lifted on the nose than in the Rochegrès. More peppery. The tannins are firmer too but rounded and in harmony already, though it should age well. Oak shows a little more in the texture and flavour. (JH)

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
