Opaque ruby. Intense red and dark berry liqueur, licorice, olive and candied rose aromas are sharpened by a smoky mineral overtone. Offers sappy blackcurrant, cherry-cola, exotic spice and mocha flavors that slowly deepen and become sweeter with air. A cracked pepper flourish add spicy cut to a strikingly long, dark fruit-dominated finish that shows excellent focus and smooth, well-judged tannins. x000D

The flagship 2019 Saint Joseph Le Paradis Saint Pierre ranks with the crème de la crème of the vintage, yet like most of the top wines, it's going to need bottle age. Deep ruby/purple-hued, it offers a gorgeous nose of black raspberries, cassis, cured meats, crushed stone, pepper, and dried flowers. Full-bodied, concentrated, and structured, it has the ripe, up-front, spicy fruit that's the hallmark of the vintage as well as the firmer, building tannins that will require at least 4-5 years of bottle age. This is stunning, though, and well worth seeking out.
Scents of crushed stone, violets, black cherries and mocha mark the nose of the 2019 Saint Joseph le Paradis Saint Pierre. While it's super ripe and concentrated, this full-bodied effort also boasts reasonably supple tannins and a gently expansive mouthfeel, culminating in a long, softly tannic finish. Give it another few years in the cellar if you have the patience, and you should be rewarded. Tasted twice (once blind), with consistent notes.
95% Marsanne, 5% Roussanne. Aged on fine less with bâtonnage after malolactic fermentation. Tasted blind. Honeycomb, ripe apple and banana nose. Quite oaky on the palate and a weighty hefty finish. A big bruising opulent wine. (AC)
