Light to mid crimson. Open and fragrant. Smells of small, tangy berries. Fresh and vibrant with a light peppery scent. Paper-fine tannins, elegant and persistent. (JH)

The 2019 Côte de Brouilly Les Sept Vignes is showing beautifully, offering up aromas of sweet berry fruit and plums mingled with spices, raw cocoa, orange peel and peonies. Medium to full-bodied, lively and concentrated, it's seamless and elegant, concluding with a long, saline finish. As readers may know, this is essentially the same blend as the Côte de Brouilly imported into the US by Kermit Lynch, the difference being that the Sept Vignes sees a light filtration.
