Note di degustazione
Last year, I tasted some Vin Jaune from 2011 that had been aged in barrel for 12 years, and that series now continues with the 2012 vintage. The 2012 Les Bruyères Vin Jaune 12 Ans en Fûts, aged for 12 years in barrel with flor, was bottled in early 2025 after 12 years aging under a veil of vine flor yeasts. The bottles will be kept at the winery and not sold until 2026. There is just one barrel, some 400 bottles of it. It's a very different animal, closer to the style of an Amontillado, combining biological and oxidative characteristics with notes of iodine and seaweed, and it's a little bit rough, expressive and with a core of curry and spices and a super intense and long palate. This should be almost indestructible...

The terroir of the 2012 Arbois Vin Jaune Bruyères is the same as Spois, but the wines are quite different, as this is the classical, powerful and full-bodied vin jaune from Arbois, large and nutty, powerful and open, really expressive.
