Note di degustazione
The 2021 La Haye Dampierre is crafted from vines planted on sandy, loamy soils with a calcareous subsoil facing north and northeast. Evoking aromas of cassis, dark wild berries and flowers, it’s medium-bodied, tense and delicate with a gourmand, juicy core of fruit and a fresh, ethereal finish. Matured for 18 months in egg-shaped tanks, plus six months in bottles before being released, it’s easy to drink and can age delicately over the next decade.

The 2021 La Haye Dampierre is a wonderfully fragrant wine. It's all woody herbs and olive tapenade, although there is a touch of reduction here lending a slight whiff of onion—but time and a decant sorted that out. While relatively light in body, it packs plenty of concentration in its core. However, it certainly speaks of the cooler vintage, veering toward the leaner side on the taut finish. Just a little edgy and thus slightly difficult to enjoy, time may be its friend. There is no oak here, just concrete and sandstone eggs for maturation (18 months).
