Punteggio 93/100 · David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate, Aug 2007

The 2005 Sancerre Les Monts Damnes is sensationally-scented with ripe honeydew melon, white peach, yellow cherry, caraway, buddleia and sea breeze. Striking in its purity and clarity, this floats off into an elegant, yet rich and ultra-ripe finish dominated by orchard fruits and honey, but never losing sight of citrus nor of salty, chalky mineral dimensions and thus persistently enticing and invigorating. Pale yellow. Intensely perfumed, pungent aromas of lemon, lime, quince, smoky minerals and fresh herbs. Fleshy orchard fruit flavors are deepened by peach pit and smoked meat tones and braced by firm but harmonious acidity. Fills out on the finish, picking up a note of blood orange and showing excellent persistence and lingering minerality.
