2020 Charmes Chambertin

Two parcels, one in Mazoyères, one in Charmes; both on limestone. Cask sample. An opposite texture to the Clos de Vougeot – juicy and concentrated like fruit cordial. It is floral again with violets and iodine over a concise and compact red- and black-fruit profile. The finish is a little curt, for now. Surprising. (MH)
