2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard Etched

100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Made entirely from the alluvial fan laid down by Simmons Creek in what the team considers the heart of the Eisele vineyard. Certified organic by CCOF and biodynamic by Demeter. Released June 2022. Wow. This is an impressive wine. Incredible pleasure and depth built on poise, detail and elegance. Notes of violet, fresh cedar, graphite and pencil shavings lift from the nose, followed by blue fruits, crushed earth, and a lot of persistence across the palate. The nuance and balance here are impressive. The wine moves through the mouth with natural elegance, nothing here feels imposed. Tannin is fine grained and full of length with balanced acidity, harmony and good energy. A complete wine, and one of the best of its vintage. Can drink now or hold for a long time. (ECB)

The Eisele Vineyard grapes are certified organic by CCOF and biodynamic by Demeter. Elegant, refined, silky tannins on the palate. A fine Napa Cab. There is great quality here, juicy dark berry fruits, refined tannins and super-subtle oak. Hints of violet, a floral edge, long and concentrated on the aftertaste. Beautifully constructed wine but not likely to be great value. (AWH)

This is sophisticated and intellectual, with an incredible wall of fine tannins that take you deep down into the soul of the wine. Full-to medium-bodied, tight and soulful. Tar, ash and volcanic-soil flavors. White pepper, too. Great length. Shows the first-growth quality of the vineyards, harking back to the wines of the mid-1970s. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. This needs at least six to seven years of bottle age. Best after 2028.
