Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2018-2038, Jeb Dunnuck, Jan 2018

Coming from the oldest vines of the estate, the flagship 2016 Saint Joseph Le Berceau Blanc is 100% Marsanne, brought up all in barrel, and there are only about 200 cases made in any vintage. Its medium-gold color is followed by a tight, lively white that has lots of buttered citrus, white peach, spice, toasted bread and obvious minerality. Young, backward and tight on the palate, yet with beautiful concentration and depth, give bottles a year in the cellar and enjoy over the following decade or more. Domaine Bernard Gripa covers 16 hectares spread between Saint Péray and Saint Joseph. It’s a family run estate, yet the helm is firmly in the hands of the talented Fabrice Gripa, who continues to keep this estate up at the top of the pyramid in Saint Joseph and Saint Péray.

Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2018-2021, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, Dec 2017

The 2016 Saint Joseph Blanc Le Berceau is a slightly bigger, richer wine than the regular white Saint Joe. Almond-skin notes accent pear and citrus, and this wine shows lots of spicy, white-peppery sensations along with hints of tropical fruit on the medium to full-bodied palate. The only thing keeping me from rating this higher was a hint of phenolic bitterness on the finish.
