2015 Completer Malanserrebe

From calcareous slate soils, Donatsch's 2015 Completer Malanserrebe displays a clear, fresh and aromatic bouquet of canned peaches and pineapples along with some flinty terroir aromas and slightly toasty notes from the 12 months of aging in barrels. This silky/creamy-textured and elegant wine is full-bodied and powerful, showing good calcareous freshness with delicate but vivacious acidity as well as remarkable finesse, but it should be aged for another year or two. It is a nice Burgundian-styled wine to pair with the coolish, mineral fruit of Grison.
