Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2026-2045, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Mar 2023

Only 16 hectoliters per hectare were cropped of the 2017 Pinot Noir Heimbourg, which would count 9,000 vines per hectare if the Pinot plot was that big. It's just one-third of a hectare and was planted in 1995. The 2017 vintage is superb and shows intense and ripe fruit in the pure and spicy bouquet that indicates enormous depth and mineral refreshment. From iron-rich limestone, this is a very elegant but rich and powerful Pinot Noir with fine but seriously firm tannins intertwined with a certain salinity and mineral freshness. The finish is pure, dry, fresh and palate-cleansing, making it predestined for dark meat dishes. Even from a wide Burgundy glass, this intense and structured Pinot needs to be decanted some hours in advance. Bottled unfiltered in February 2019 with 12.9% alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in January 2023.
