Note di degustazione
A blend of 40% Grenache and 30% each Syrah and Mourvèdre raised in concrete and foudre, the 2021 Lirac La Lorentine is deeper ruby-hued and displays a darker, peppery Syrah character in its blackberry fruit, game, lavender, and violet-like aromas and flavors. It shows more Grenache on the palate and is medium-bodied, has a layered, rounded mouthfeel, wonderful purity, and a clean finish.

The 2021 Lirac La Lorentine is mainly Syrah and Mourvèdre, with some Grenache, from a small property the Armeniers began working with in 2003. It's a bit tarry on the nose, but it opens up to reveal black olives and cassis. Medium to full-bodied, it's a more linear, focused effort than usual, with a bit of astringency on the finish.
The 2021 Lirac should be rock solid, if not outstanding. There was no frost in Lirac, so yields were healthy as well. Ripe darker, almost blue fruits, garrigue, and pepper, as well as a touch of flowers, all define the nose, and it's medium-bodied, has good concentration, and a great finish. This cuvée also offers pleasure, and the 2021 will be no exception.
