Note di degustazione
Matured 100% in wine globes, the 2020 Franc de Pied from Thibaud Boudignon offers up a delicate, fresh bouquet with aromas of menthol, citrus zest, pear and orchard fruits. Medium to full-bodied, with a satiny attack that segues into an elegantly fleshy texture, it’s dense and more vibrant than its 2021 counterpart. Only 250 bottles produced.

Only 250 bottles of 2020 Franc de Pied were made and having finished one off, that means there's only 249. Sorry. Not sorry. Produced from the best part of Clos de la Hutte, a small parcel has been planted on its own roots. It is harvested by hand, pressed before putting in a wine globe - a type of glass jar for 18 months. Tasted before release, this is a cloud of beautiful, refined wine. My scribbled handwritten note reads: put a fork in me, I'm done, which isn't particularly helpful on reflection; although, it did make me laugh while typing it up, and it does communicate the sense of pleasure that this wine provided. This is a crystalline wine with purity, length and precision. The acid is firm and direct, making for a powerful, driven conclusion.
