This has an assertive and fresh, red-berry nose with bright strawberries and wild cherries, laced with white pepper and fresh, sappy herbs. A light and lacy palate with a fresh, crunchy and attractively energetic interplay of tannin and acidity. Drink or hold.

Pale ruby. Curious mix of smoke, roasted red cherry and stem-leaf character that gives a simultaneous sense of roasting heat and cool climate. Bright not brisk acidity, quite soft tannins, then lots of medicinal, stemmy character and smoke. An odd – and not very happy – mix. (TJ)
