2019 Charmes Chambertin

Two parcels, 60- to 70-year-old vines. 50% new oak. Barrel sample. Pure, concentrated, sweet fruit with gentler tannins than in some of this domaine’s wines. Should certainly get there in the end and is already obviously in balance in terms of sweetness and acidity. Some vibrancy here. Relatively evolved. (JR)
