Olivier Bernstein’s 2022 Charmes-Chambertin is very perfumed and delicate, with rose petal and crushed raspberries. The very old vines bring the concentration needed to succeed in this warm vintage. The tannins are polished and seductive, with a nice creaminess coming from the oak which needs time to fully integrate but is not overwhelming. The finish is long and suave, with a refreshing bitterness. This is surprisingly approachable now, but will be even better if you can age it.
