Punteggio 15.5/20 · Da bere 2022-2028, Jancis Robinson MW, May 2025

74% Chenin Blanc, 12% Clairette Blanche, 6% Viognier, 4% Sémillon Gris, 4% Grenache Blanc. Natural cork. Tasted blind. Sweet, crème pâtissière nose. Chewy finish. Oddly disjointed. Maybe it will come together eventually. But no fun at the moment. (JR)

The 2015 White Blend Old Vines has a lovely bouquet with popcorn, wild peach and apricot scents that blossom with aeration. This is very seductive. The palate is well-balanced with modest depth, though it doesn't deliver the complexity of the nose and needs a little more depth and grip on the nutty finish. A second bottle showed better than the first and as such it is difficult to rate. I will defer based on previous showings. Tasted blind at the 10-Year-On horizontal in London.

Rich and satisfying nose – a wine that was served at our son’s wedding no less. Broad but not fat. Quintessentially South African with chew and life. Lightly bitter but with masses of fruit. (JR)

74% Chenin Blanc, 12% Clairette, 6% Viognier, 4% Sémillon Gris, 4% Grenache Blanc. Butter, cream, wax, green apple – this has the sort of mossy style of Anjou, but riper fruit (and fuller body). Dry, fibrous, slightly low in acidity perhaps, but well balanced even so. (RH)
