2019 Holger Koch Pinot Noir (3 star)

The 2019 Pinot Noir *** opens with perfectly ripe to super ripe blackberry, black cherry and blackthorn fruit with lovely floral (violet) and earthy aromas. Medium to full-bodied, intense and juicy on the dense and refreshing palate, this is a round, finessed, elegant, tightly structured and seemingly rather warm Pinot but becomes rather coolish with some aeration. It has an intense, stimulating, very good finish and well-concentrated character that will makes its way. Tasted as barrel sample in April 2020.
