The 2018 Riesling Erdener Treppchen Auslese *** (Golden Capsule) is pure, fresh and concentrated on the highly elegant, tropical-scented nose that reveals some concentrated but fresh pineapple aromas intertwined with blue slate and pastry aromas. Concentrated, rich and piquant on the palate, this is a juicy, mouth-filling, sweet yet very elegant Treppchen Auslese with stimulating fine, crystalline acidity and a sustainable, salty-mineral finish that reveals remarkable complexity. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.
