A penetrating nose of lemon oil, mirabelle distillate and fresh white peach also reveals hints of smoke, ash, stone and peach kernel that lend intrigue and counterpoint on a lush yet juicy palate. “Penetration” describes this wine’s finish as well: for now more formidable than fun, but likely with time to take on richness in keeping with its expansive midpalate impression.
