Note di degustazione
The 2018 Maximin Grünhaus Abtsberg Kabinett shows a sulfurous bouquet with intense and flinty-scented yellow stone fruit aromas. Vibrantly fresh, light and filigreed yet with intensity and the generous and lush fruit expression of the vintage, this is a stimulating, vital, crunchy and mouthwatering Kabinett that is still very young and can go a long distance, if you are patient enough. It is very long and saline. It will end up as a serious food wine one day. This is part of the Schlosskeller Reserve that the von Schubert family released last year to compensate for the dramatic losses to spring frost in 2024. 8.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in January 2026.

Full bottle 1,286 g. Medium gold. Honied, floral, toasty, lemony, lightly buttery, GORGEOUS nose. Beautiful acid/sugar balance just a bit lacking in concentration – as is its right as a Kabinett – honestly amazing that it packs in so much complexity! (SCJ)
This bends more in the slate and mineral direction on the nose with fresh wet slate, pithy limes and gun smoke. The palate delivers a very assertive and fresh array of fine citrus fruit and a convincing core of acidity, supporting lime, white-peach and fresh-herb flavors. Very lively. Drink or hold.
Smoky ripe citrus and a touch of SO2 in evidence. Ripest lemon fruit, almost like a lemon bon bon, pure and super-intense if relatively simple at the moment. (JH)
