Made by Paul Jordaan—winemaker for Sadie Family Wines—and partner, Pauline Roux, comes the 2020 Bosberaad Chenin Blanc, which loosely translates to “gathering in nature.” The goal is to produce boutique wine in sync with Mother Nature. Displaying a medium golden color, the Chenin Blanc blossoms in the glass with delightful aromas of yellow apple skin, dusty yellow peach and citrus blossom with soft elements of honeysuckle and leesy notes. Medium to full-bodied, the palate displays impeccable precision with an undercurrent of dusty citrus tones that sway with a mineral tension, with a balanced structure across the mid-palate. The Chenin Blanc concludes with flavors of sweet citrus, arugula and soft cheese rind. 780 bottles were produced after the wine rested for 10 months on the lees in old French barrels. It's delicious; give it a try!

Honeyed Chenin nose with utterly correct high acidity. Tight and tense. Should age very well. Really long. (JR)
