Note di degustazione
Tasted at the Armagh Hut with Sam and Tom Barry, the 2016 The Florita Riesling is showing some color development for the first time in this vertical. On the nose, there is roasted/toasted pear, red apple skins, a hint of bitter walnut and loads of brine. This is salty, slinky and tense—very impressive. This is quiet and pretty but driven. It is excellent and will be long lived. 2016 was a great red year in Clare.

A hot January led to a compressed vintage that produced very good Riesling as well as Shiraz and Cabernet, apparently. RS 2.4 g/l, pH 2.8, TA 7.5 g/l. More spicy than the 2014. Dusty lime and delicate on the nose. Precise and driven citrus palate, a bit one-dimensional at the moment but with plenty of promise with this depth and intensity of fruit. (JH)
Pale lemon. Weight and density of toasty lime, with extra richness that draws you in. Some TDN , but mostly youthful. Focused, firm lime, with stones. Bone dry and long. (TJ)
