Note di degustazione
60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. 20 months in 85% new oak. Only 7,500 bottles made. Very precise on the nose with fragrant floral notes as well as dark fruit. There is an extra dimension here. Explosive palate with lots of fruit but also plenty of structure. Grippy and firm. FINE+RARE

The 2012 Chapelle d'Ausone has a very opulent bouquet with ravishing blueberry and raspberry fruit, a little smudged, liquorice and camphor aromas percolating through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and fine acidity, yet it lacks real complexity and tension, especially towards the finish, coming across a little flat. Tasted blind at the Southwold Ten-Year On tasting.
Tasted blind. An odd, minty wine that lacks a real core and is a bit dusty on the end. Sour too. (JR)
Tasted blind. Dark crimson. Pungent with a hint of char on the nose. Sweet start and lots of juice. Then something a little green on the end. Shame because it was all going rather well. (JR)
