Note di degustazione
A foudre-aged blend of 85% Mourvèdre, 10% Grenache and 5% Cinsault, Terrebrune's 2019 Bandol features slightly tarry scents, plus notes of plums, black cherries and ground allspice. It's full-bodied, generous and chunky in feel but not overly concentrated or long on the finish.

Thrilled to see Bandol represented on the Place de Bordeaux this year, and I hope it's a way for it to gain credility for its wonderful red wines that offer so much pleasure. Sour cherry, soft savoury reducurrant and raspberry fruits, ripe but not overpowering, brilliant quality with vitality and salinity. It's a wine that seems to deliver half memories, half taste, and is just thrillingly drinkable. Winemaker Daneil Abrial. One of the value wines of this month's releases.
Full clear bordeaux bottle weighs 1,230 g. Certified organic. 60% Mourvèdre plus Cinsault and Grenache grown on terraces overlooking the sea. New wine for Bancroft. Seems pretty expensive despite the sea view! Very pale pink. Serious wine with the smoky, appetising, food-friendly nature of Mourvèdre. Doesn't taste bone dry but it's alluring – though definitely not a massive bargain. (JR)
