Dark violet color. Smoky cherry and black raspberry on the nose, along with suggestions of baking spices, violet and cracked pepper. Supple and energetic on the palate, offering appealingly sweet, spice-laced red and dark berry and floral pastille flavors that deepen through the back half. The spicy note returns on a long, juicy finish that shows fine clarity and smooth, even tannins.

A bit darker-fruited and more concentrated, the 2020 Cote Rotie Les Triotes offers up notes of black cherries and purple raspberries on the nose. It's medium to full-bodied, vibrant and fresh, with a clean, silky feel.
