The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru les Amoureuses has a detailed, slightly earthy bouquet that maybe does not quite capture the exuberance of the vineyard like some of the others that I have encountered. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red berry fruit, fine acidity and seamlessly integrated oak. It fans out gently towards the finish, silky in texture with a dark cherry and cassis aftertaste. Very fine, although the aromatics just need to up their game.

Lightly peppery nose. Very charming cherry fruit. Very luscious and sweet. Gorgeous fruit and the tannins just very faintly protesting underneath. Extremely long and beautiful. (JR)
Medium red; slightly hazy (all of these négociant wines were racked the week before my visit): Musky aromas of raspberry, coffee and mocha lifted by a floral element. Plush, soil-driven wine with distinct saline minerality if not the éclat of the Echézeaux. Conveys a higher-pH mouth feel. Plenty complex, though, finishing with lovely savory tannins.
Mild reduction presently renders the nose tough to read. Otherwise there is more refinement and minerality to the lacy and refined middle weight flavors that deliver excellent length on the balanced finish where a touch of wood is in evidence. This will need to add depth however to attain the upper level of my predicted range. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com
