Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2017-2024, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Dec 2016

This time I had two vintages to taste side by side from their top of the range produced with Pinot Noir grapes from a vineyard planted in 1932 in Mainqué in the province of Río Negro in Patagonia. The 2014 Treinta y Dos was cropped from an unusual vintage, with good ripeness from grapes harvested at the end of February. Later on they had a warm wind which accelerated the ripeness and the end of the harvest. It fermented in cement vats with indigenous yeasts and matured in 300- and 600-liter French oak barrels, 30% of them new and the rest second use, for some 20 months. You can feel the ripeness of the year almost immediately as you put your nose in the glass, and especially if you taste it side by side with the 2015. There are also some chunkier tannins here and a dry finish, more austere, with a little more rusticity. 5,998 bottles were filled in December 2015.
